The incident took place in New Haven County around 12 p.m., Sunday, at the Union Avenue train station in New Haven.
According to Capt. Rose Dell, of the New Haven Police, officers received a call from a security officer at the train station regarding a man who had been stabbed.
When patrol officers arrived they found a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds on the left side of the train station, Dell said.
The man was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment. He is listed in stable condition, officials said.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and the Bureau of Identification arrived at the location to review video surveillance, collect evidence, and interview witnesses. Dell said a large knife was located on the scene and seized as evidence.
The department is currently investigating this incident and encourages anyone with information regarding the stabbing to come forward.
